Before a used car is sold at an auction in Japan, an inspector checks it and writes the result on a sheet: the overall grade, the interior grade, the mileage, the model year and a drawing of the car that marks scratches, dents and repairs. It is the car's health report - and we give you the original.

Higher is better. As a rough guide: 5 and 6 are close to new, 4.5 is very good with tiny marks, 4 is good with a few small marks, 3.5 shows more wear, and R or RA means the car has had a repair. The interior is graded from A (best) to E. Auction houses word things slightly differently, so we are happy to read a sheet with you.

The auction sheet records the odometer reading at the auction in Japan. Compare it with the car's own meter: only the few kilometres of shipping and delivery should have been added. We show you both side by side.

How long it takes depends on the auctions and the shipping schedule, so we give you a date once the car is bought - and you can follow the order online.

Yes, registration support is part of our service: we help with the BRTA process and the paperwork. Government fees depend on the car and are paid as BRTA sets them.

That depends on whether the car is already registered. Ask us for the list for the car you like - we go through every paper with you before you pay.
