What buyers ask us
What is an auction sheet?
Before a used car is sold at an auction in Japan, an inspector checks it and writes the result on a sheet: the overall grade, the interior grade, the mileage, the model year and a drawing of the car that marks scratches, dents and repairs. It is the car's health report - and we give you the original.
What do grades like 4.5, 4 or R mean?
Higher is better. As a rough guide: 5 and 6 are close to new, 4.5 is very good with tiny marks, 4 is good with a few small marks, 3.5 shows more wear, and R or RA means the car has had a repair. The interior is graded from A (best) to E. Auction houses word things slightly differently, so we are happy to read a sheet with you.
How do I know the mileage is real?
The auction sheet records the odometer reading at the auction in Japan. Compare it with the car's own meter: only the few kilometres of shipping and delivery should have been added. We show you both side by side.
Can I order a particular car from Japan?
Yes. Tell us the model, the year range, the colour and your budget on the Order from Japan page. We look for a match at the auctions and talk to you before buying. How long it takes depends on the auctions and the shipping schedule, so we give you a date once the car is bought - and you can follow the order online.
